Remembering Ted Hartwell

After the death of John Szarkowski last week,news of the passing of Ted Hartwell came as a special blow. Like Szarkowski, Hartwell came from America's heartland. Hartwell founded the photography department at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and worked there for 35 years. Also like Szarkowski, Hartwell championed photography as an art form.
