Friday Photo Quiz

Picture_1 We have to start by apologizing about last week's photo quiz. We just forgot to do it. (Spring Fever strikes deep.)

So here is the question of the week. We're a big fan of large-format photography, and the camera you see here is certainly large in format. What was the single use this camera was put to? And when was it used?

Tim

The ceremony for the driving of the golden spike at Promontory Summit, Utah, May 10, 1869?

David Schonauer

Tim,
You got it, congratulations. And you were fast, too.

Tim

Ups, sorry. I guess I spoiled the whole quiz ;-(

Paul Farace

Well, I am not sure if it was for the Golden Spike ceremony, but I read that it was used to photograph a train and then never used again. Guess they didn't have the cash to buy a good wide angle lens or a panoramic camera! :o)
