Perez Hilton Sued for Copyright Infringment

Here’s a confession, and it’s a bad one: I read that gossipy perezhilton.com blog all the time. I think what he does is funny, especially the way he annotates paparazzi pictures of Britney, Lindsay, and Paris with his biting comments. But even while I’m laughing, I’m wondering, don’t all the paparazzi photo agencies mind that he’s just ripping off their pictures for his own use? The answer, apparently, is yes, according to TXZ.com, yet another gossip site. Seems that Prerez (real name: Mario Lavandeira) is being sued. This is just the tip of the iceberg on this issue. Can copyright be protected in the blogosphere? I think the genie is already out of the bottle.
